Nags Head Wood Ecological Preserve


Plasterer Bee (right) with nest.  It's a Colletes inaequalis, a member of the Colletidae family.  Partridgeberry, which was abundant in this area  Fallen tree  Holly Tree bark   

Egg case, maybe of a mantid: the holes suggests baby mantids have broken out. These three pictures show duckweed-covered swamps.
